About Us

Frida and Friends is a growing platform; dedicated to rescuing and caring for stray dogs in Yucatán, Mexico.

Every day, countless dogs are left to survive on the streets—hungry, sick, frightened, and often without a chance at a healthy life. Many suffer from parasites, disease, and neglect, leading to painful and preventable deaths. Most dogs are abandoned and left to nurture their babies on their own. With the ever growing population growing each day and babies either growing sick carrying diseases or dying on the side of the road. We need this to change and as fast as possible.

At our private sanctuary, we provide a safe, loving environment where these animals can heal and thrive. Currently, we care for over 30 dogs, including 16 puppies who were abandoned and are now searching for forever homes. We would love to help more dogs but when disease spreads it is vital we have enough space for each dog to heal seperately.

Although we are at full capacity and cannot always take in more animals, it is incredibly difficult to turn away those in urgent need. The reality is that there are always more dogs who need help. We want to help more than just our own dogs. We want to reach the masses and help the people doing this by themselves for there are so many.

Our Mission

We aim to rescue extreme cases and provide a loving, safe space for dogs who need to heal. We see all dogs as an opportunity to help and find the dream home for. This is not easy but getting our dogs adopted means we can help more cases. We aim to spay, neuter, vaccinate all dogs who come our way and also set up campaigns to spay and neuter the dogs of Seye and other small towns that don’t have the means. Also giving them the medical assistance that they may need.

Our Vision

Our goal is to grow beyond a sanctuary and become a movement—one that protects animals, educates children, and fosters compassion within the community.

We believe in bringing together community, creativity, and care to inspire a kinder world for both animals and future generations. We hope to support other rescuers who do the dirty work. Our vision is CHANGE - It’s not easy seeing as its a cultural thing and we are up against years of tradition. Let’s change the way animals are treated together.

With Frida and Friends being a movement we hope to address the Schools, Education for the locals and inspire a possitive exchange so we can reach more and do more to help all the animals suffering in the Yucatan and beyond.
