Meet Kira

Kira loves being bathed by Ale

From a junkyard to joy Kira spent her early life tied up in a bumpy backyard, more scrap heap than safe haven. While others got love and shelter, Kira endured blazing sun and pouring rain with no protection — watching it all, silently, after witnessing her own mother suffer the same fate. But someone saw her. Someone cared. And that changed everything.
She came to our Merida house weak, terrified, and unable to walk from the damage of her past. It took three days before she could even stand. But slowly, with patience and love, Kira healed.

Now? Kira is the happiest girl at the Quinta. She runs free, plays hard, and follows her best friend Ale with total devotion — always making sure Ale isn’t giving too much love to anyone else

From forgotten to fiercely loved — Kira’s story is a reminder that rescue changes everything.

Kira is the happiest of the dogs and follows Ale around all day every day. She can be aggressive and see red occassionaly this usually happens when the whole pack has turned on a weaker member such as Suki or Maggie who are now kept in the house and run on a different schedule to Kira and the big gang. Kira is soft, affectionate and loving though. She has been through so much and although her attacks can be nasty we know she tries her very best to be good and her healing has really come a long way since the days she could not walk or even get up to go to the loo for being so scared. We love you Kira and we are so happy you came to us.
